Over the years, we have partnered with lots of lenders and built up a great deal of expertise at creating the best financing approvals for each unique situation. Each lender has niche or specialty areas that they work in.  For instance one lender we have loves to finance military personnel that are young and new in The Armed Forces.  Most lenders won’t touch those loans.  Another lender we have loves to see large down payments and will overlook many negative credit issues with a large down payment.  Other lenders don’t factor in down payment.

Let’s review how credit works; Banks, Financial Institutions and Credit Unions all look at what we call a FICO score.

700 is good and you can generally get credit easily at great terms
600 is pretty good, you can get credit, but the rates will be a bit higher
500 or lower is poor and getting credit is difficult

At Dream Cars Credit, when you do a credit application, we’ll tell you exactly what your score is.  Unfortunately these days, it doesn’t take much to drop your credit score below 600 or even 500.  Losing a job, a divorce, a medical problem… 

This affects car financing in the following ways; If you have a long drawn out history of not paying your bills, getting cars repossessed, etc., we can definitely approve you, but your down payment will likely be high and we will only be able to do a shorter term of 24 months or so.

If, on the other hand, you have a history of paying your bills, but went through a tough time related to a divorce, job loss or medical problem, chances are we can work with a lower down payment and extend longer terms like 48 to 60 months.

Last year we originated over $3M in car loans to people with FICO scores under 500, so that doesn’t scare the Approval Geyser!
